The Revival in America has Already Happened – Part 2
The Revival in America has Already Happened – Part 2
In the first post I made a statement that many would find it hard to believe in our troubled times. I made a statement that revival has already happened in America. Yes that is right. I believe America is going through a third great awakening just like in the days of George Whitfield and Johnathan Edwards in the 18th century, and Azusa Street in the early 1900’s. I believe many Americans hearts are awakened to a renewed relationship with their creator many have not experienced over the last several decades. You just don’t see it yet.
In the first post I discussed America’s journey from a nation the once feared the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and reverenced Him in everything they did; to a nation that openly dismissed the Creator’s sovereignty in their day-to-day lives. From a nation that lived from the Judeo Christian principles the founding fathers established; to a nation where its society is catered by individual opinions and feelings. From a nation where it citizens enjoyed peace, prosperity, and abundance; to a nation where many are lacking the very resources they need to enjoy a quality life. From a nation that was feared and respected by other nations; to a nation that is mocked and despised by many in the world.
All of this happened because America who once looked to God for direction and purpose began to look inward at the prosperity it enjoyed. As a result God became something that was a habit, not someone who was needed to survive. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was relegated to the back of people’s minds. Many people claimed to be Christians but, denied the power of God to transform their lives into obedient loving souls. Plus the very organizations that was supposed to protect the American way of life began to challenge the traditional views of our founding fathers.
As a result the America society that once stood strong with citizens who carried a national pride, became a divided mess with many unable to provide for their daily lives or the lives of their families. This led to a divided nation that struggled to supply the resources it citizens needed. This created a situation where other nations began to mock the once great America due to the lack and chaos it has experienced.
As this giant of chaos and lack pursued America, its governmental leaders and established authority tried with all their strength and might to overcome this giant that plagued its people. But their efforts resulted in more divisiveness and more chaos as the American families began to crumble from within.
All of this paralleled the story of Israel in the times of Samuel the prophet, King Saul, King David, and Goliath the Philistine warrior. This story can be found in 1st Samuel of the Old Testament. I discussed this story in detail in the 1st part of this blog. The only portion of the story I did not parallel in the 1st blog was how King David defeated the giant, and how God has created a parallel to this story in America today.
Before I reveal the parallel to David defeating the giant, I want to reveal the hidden enemy that has seized control over America. Therefore my goal for this blog is to not only reveal this hidden enemy, but to reveal how this enemy seized enough control to change America. But first I want to introduce the spirit of David.
In the first part of this blog we left off with the great giant Goliath mocking Israel day and night, and how Saul and his established army were afraid to even challenge him. We discussed how Saul was the people’s champion who did everything in his own strength. How he and his army represented how the established authority tried to solve Israel’s giant problem in their own strength only to lose heart and fail. We then paralleled how President Obama paralleled Saul as the people’s champion; and how America’s educational, religious, and governmental organizations paralleled Israel army as the established authority. We then discussed how President Obama and his established authority has tried to defeat this giant of chaos and lack in their own strength only to create more chaos and divisiveness throughout America. Finally we defined the way they tried to overcome the issues America was facing, “Moving in Man’s Strength”. To read this story please read The Revival Has Already Happened In America – Part 1.
David Story – A champion comes from the wilderness
In the story of Samuel, Saul, David, and Goliath; Saul and his army was afraid to take Goliath challenge when an unassuming kid, who was not trained in war, came to bring food to his older brothers who were in Saul’s army. This kid name was David, who was the youngest son of Jesse. As David’s older brothers went to war, David was given the task of taking care of his father’s flock.
It was during this time in the wilderness that David developed a relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. As David was looking after his father’s flock, he had to protect them from wild animals, each one more powerful than the rest. For you see a lion and a bear attacked his father’s sheep under David’s protection. It was during this time in the wilderness where David began to understand he did not have the strength in himself to protect his father’s flock from these threats, so David turned to his relationship with his God.
With each victory, David faith in the Lord’s deliverance from danger grew. It was at this point as David saw this giant mocking the nation he loved; David knew the Lord would deliver this giant into his hand. The difference between David and Saul and his army was David looked to the Lord for his divergence, where Saul and his army looked to themselves.
So with his faith in the Lord David did something Saul and his army were too afraid to do. David defeated the giant that mocked Israel day and night. This ruddy, kid that oversaw his father’s flock in the wilderness, came and defeated the huge obstacle no one else could do. David was a new kind of warrior. One who relied on a relationship built on trust in a God he did not see. One who understood he could do nothing in himself, but with the strength of his God he could do all things. Even defeat the giant that was thought to be too strong. We call this moving in the strength of the Lord.
Can you now see the difference between how Saul and his army tried to solve the problem of Goliath; and how David overcame Goliath? Saul and his army moved in the strength of man, whereas David moved in the strength of the Lord. How do you solve the giants in your life? Are you trying to solve your giants in your own strength or are you trying to solve your giants in the strength of the Lord? Remember to use the strength of the Lord like David did; you first need to forge a personal relationship with the Lord built on the spirit of humility, based upon the truth you can do nothing in your own strength, but understanding you can do all things with the help of the Lord.
America’s Dilemma- Many are living in the Days of Daniel.
1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord delivered Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles from the temple of God. These he carried off to the temple of his god in Babylonia and put in the treasure house of his god.
3 Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring into the king’s service some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility—4 young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians. 5 The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king’s table. They were to be trained for three years, and after that they were to enter the king’s service.
6 Among those who were chosen were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego (Daniel 1:1-6 NIV, www.biblegateway.com)
In the first part of this blog and my first blog of this site, “Where is the Importance of the Church in a Nation that is in Trouble”, I discussed how America turned away from God. How over the years of prosperity many generations have moved away from a dependency of God; resulting in many having a form of godliness, but thus denying God’s ability to empower them to live the way He wants them too. The problem was as each generation of prosperity occurred, the God fearing American society of faith, family, and hard work was replaced with a self-serving need to experience instance gratification. As the American society moved further and further away from the founding principles of our forefathers; this way of life became more and more foreign to the newer generations. As a matter of fact, it was almost as if the stories of our forefathers were a fictional movie that never happened. The problem with each generation that moved away from the way early Americans lived, the road back to the way of life our forefathers envisioned for America became more and more difficult to find.
This is where the story of Daniel comes in. For you see during the time Israel captivity to the Babylonians many Israelites including Daniel became accustomed to the Babylonian ways of life. Daniel knew God wanted the Israelites to live a certain way but he could not put his finger on it. Their time in captivity had all but made the days of Israel glorious freedom to serve the Lord a distant memory. They lost their way and needed to be reminded of their history. But their history was not only a distant memory; it was something many had to imagine because they never experienced that type of freedom during their time in captivity. Everyone was left to their own interpretation and imagination.
This type of life was not acceptable to Daniel. Something inside of him was eating away at him. He needed to know the truth about how to live for God. Daniel needed the Lord to give him the understanding of truth about God’s kingdom life. So Daniel prayed and waited for God’s answer.
1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war. The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.
2 At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. 3 I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.
4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris, 5 I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist. 6 His body was like topaz, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.
7 I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; those who were with me did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves. 8 So I was left alone, gazing at this great vision; I had no strength left, my face turned deathly pale and I was helpless. 9 Then I heard him speaking, and as I listened to him, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground.
10 A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. 11 He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling. (Daniel 10:1-11 NIV, www.biblegateway.com)
Then after 21 days an angel appeared before Daniel to give him the vision he was looking for. This angel explained to Daniel the Lord heard his cry and sent the answer right away but a principality angel tried to stop him from delivering this truth to Daniel. This principality known as the prince of Persia was so strong it took the angel 21 days to deliver the message.
12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”
15 While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless. 16 Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, “I am overcome with anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I feel very weak. 17 How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe.”
18 Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength.19 “Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed,” he said. “Peace! Be strong now; be strong.”
When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.”
20 So he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come;21 but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince. (Daniel 10:12-21 NIV, www.biblegateway.com)
Many people do not fully understand what a principality angel really is. Principality angels were originally created by God to develop His vision in the souls of a group of people that live with a common purpose. Many times these people are represented in a state, region, or country. The key is they all have common interests and common purposes that are carried out. These angels are created in the image of God the Father, who creates the vision of the Godhead. We need to understand it is the Father’s vision that Christ uses to develop the laws or ways that govern God’s kingdom, and it is God’s Holy Spirit that follows these laws or ways in order to bring the Father’s vision into reality.
This is important because all of God’s creatures including God Himself, has to produce the vision or reality inside them. We work diligently to create the reality inside our minds. That is why if you give a person with a poverty mentality millions of dollars they will work to produce poverty in their lives; or if you place someone with a business owner vision inside them, they will work tirelessly to own businesses. Nothing can stop them from trying to make the vision inside them a reality. As a matter of fact their vision is their reality, and anything that does not agree with their vision or reality is rejected and false.
The problem is Satan knows this too well, so he sends his fallen principality angels or demons to create his reality in the hearts or minds of the people. That is what happened in the days of Daniel. You see demons are just fallen angels who fell to the Selfish Inward Nature just like many of us humans. Therefore the prince of Persia was just a fallen principality angel that created the vision of Satan’s desire in the hearts of the Babylonian’s. The reason why this fallen angel is called the prince of Persia is because it created the vision or reality in the Persian people, starting with the leadership.
A New Vision Rises in America in the 20th Century
As mentioned from the first part of this blog, America was founded upon faith, family, and hard work. A nation where God fearing people made the rules based upon their relationship with the Lord. For America’s founders had a vision of a family oriented society that was free to live according to God’s invisible qualities and precepts.
At the heart of this vision was the biblical family (one man, one woman, and their offspring); and the way each member of the family functioned. During that time the American society used biblical principles to govern the way men, women, and children carried themselves. For God designed the biblical family as the atom of society. It was the core of each community. In the early existence of America each family operated as one and provided a needed function to the whole of the community.
This is what made America a strong and vibrant nation that feared God and governed itself accordingly. Because of this God gave America the ingenuity and creativity to become a great superpower where people dreamed. For during that time the American existence centered around the needs of the American family, which was founded upon biblical beliefs.
All of this happened until a new vision slowly emerged in America in the 20th century. At the start of the 20th century with the advent of World War 1 and the Great Depression, welfare brought a new kind of provision for the family. For the first time the government starting to provide for families because fathers were unable to find work.
This was the start of a new shift in the roles of each family member. Traditionally, fathers went out to work to find the resources their families needed; the mothers stayed home to run the house or went to work as needed; and their children pitched in where they could. The problem happened when welfare became a permanent part of family provisions. This caused many families receiving welfare to look to the government instead of the fathers for their provisions. For it was only created to be a band-aide or a stop gap measure to provide for needy families during those difficult times.
The major shift in the functionality of traditional families happened during the middle of the 20th century with the assault on traditional values. It was during that time where a new series of ideas began to seed a new vision within the hearts of young Americans. These ideas began to directly oppose traditional family values. These ideas focused on individual freedoms of expressions like homosexuality, lesbianism, feminism, and couples living together instead of getting married. These ideas lead to an atmosphere of relativism where the importance was based upon self-gratification, instead of a sense of community where the importance was put on others.
America is under the influence of the Spirit of Jezebel
All of this was the influence of a principality angel I call the spirit of Jezebel. I call this principality the spirit of Jezebel because it set out to accomplish the same goals of distorting the biblical family as it did in the days of Jezebel and Ahab of the Old Testament. To understand the story of Jezebel please read 1St Kings 15- 2nd Kings 9.
Many people believe that the spirit of Jezebel is represented in strong women who want to usurp authority. I believe this spirit is much more. I believe this spirit is a principality angel that wants to distort God’s spiritual road-map, the biblical family. I believe this spirit wants to create a vision where women take on the traditional roles of men as the main providers and leaders of the families; men take on the roles of women as the enabler of the family visions but are unable to make the right decisions to lead their families; and children learn to not respect authority and try to become the parents in their families.
The reason why the biblical family is the spiritual road-map is because each member of the biblical family is designed to function like a specific part of God’s hidden kingdom. As long as biblical families are operating according to their divine design, their environment becomes a road-map that allows many of us to understand and experience God’s hidden kingdom on earth.
Not only did the spirit of Jezebel work to create a new family structure in the hearts of Americans, it wanted to accomplish this with a spirit of hyper sexuality. For by creating a spirit of hyper sexuality this principality would destroy mankind’s ability to experience intimacy with their creator. As long as intimacy was shared freely, this principality knew mankind would have a hard time sharing the most personal parts of their souls with anyone, leaving the person alone and frustrated in the end.
Jezebel knew it could not force the people to change, so it sat out control the established authorities that created the vision inside of the American citizens. It knew it had to gain control of the American governmental organizations that is responsible for the way Americans live; gain control over the educational systems that is responsible for the way Americans think; and gain control over the religious systems that is responsible for Americans moral standards and values.
By gaining control over these organizations Jezebel knew it could slowly change God’s vision of a unified biblical family working together according to their divine roles, to its vision of a distorted family unit based upon self-gratification and individualism.
Therefore as Jezebel took control over these organizations its vision began to take root more and more in the hearts of the American people with each generation. I believe this started in the 30’s and gained steam with the sexual revolution in the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. Thus after 3 or 4 generations Jezebel had accomplished it goal of changing the vision of family in the hearts of many Americans. It was so successful that God’s and America’s founding fathers vision of the biblical family working as one became something that was lost to current generations.
All of this culminated in an all-out challenge to the traditional biblical family in early 2000; and the collapse of family relationships which caused chaos and terror in the hearts of many. Therefore, as you can see just as the Israeli lost the vision of their glorious past in the days of Daniel; Americans did too.
Always remember Jezebel’s main goal is to distort the biblical family. By changing or distorting the traditional roles of each family member, generations will lose the understanding of how to live the fulfilled abundant live God promised. For you see the biblical family is the key raising healthy children that become an asset to their community. As children grow up in an environment where each member operates according to God’s laws and precepts, children seemed to grow into well-adjusted adults.
Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 AMP, www.biblegateway.com )
We must realize that God has designed the biblical family to reproduce his way of life. We must understand the biblical family is designed to allow us to experience and grow in our comprehension of God’s kingdom, especially our children. That without a properly functioning environment, we develop unhealthy selfish tendencies that become destructive to ourselves and everyone around us.
15 And did not God make [you and your wife] one [flesh]? Did not One make you and preserve your spirit alive? And why [did God make you two] one? Because He sought a godly offspring [from your union]. Therefore take heed to yourselves, and let no one deal treacherously and be faithless to the wife of his youth.
16 For the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I hate divorce and marital separation and him who covers his garment [his wife] with violence. Therefore keep a watch upon your spirit [that it may be controlled by My Spirit], that you deal not treacherously and faithlessly [with your marriage mate]. (Malachi 2:15-16 APMPC, www.biblegateway.com)
Just look at cultures where the biblical family is important and cultures where the biblical family structure has broken down or is redefined. History tells us that cultures where the biblical family and God’s laws is broken down began to crumble from within. Just think about the mental health epidemic in America today. Think about how violence, hopeless, and destruction had taken hold of the American people, especially children and young adults. Now think about how these symptoms have parallel the destruction or redefining of the biblical family structure.
Do you see the Influence of Jezebel in Your Life?
Do you see an influence of the spirit of Jezebel in your life? Have you fallen to the deceptions of this principality? Now that we have discussed how this principality has come to destroy America from within, I want to discuss God’s plan to destroy the enemy’s stronghold.
In my next and final blog of this series, “The Revival in America has Already Happened – Part 3”, I am going to disclose God’s strategy to destroy Jezebel stronghold over the American people. As we discuss this strategy you will began to understand what power you have over Jezebel, and what you can do to overcome its influence over your life and the lives of others around you.
Finally, I will reveal how God has awakened the spirit of David in the hearts of many Americans, and why we cannot see them yet. This concludes “The Revival Has Already Happened in America – Part 2”.
In closing, I want to make a clear statement. These are just my thoughts and opinions I am just a concerned America, a Christian, who loves this nation and wants to see its glory restored.
If you found this blog to be of interest to you, or if you have an opinion, please reply with your thoughts and send it to everyone you know, I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and opinions.
